ISP Technician & Team Lead (Splicing Specialist)
Job Summary:

The ISP Technician & Team Lead is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting internet service infrastructure, with a specialization in fiber optic splicing. This role also involves leading a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and overseeing day-to-day operations in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Maintenance:

  • Install and maintain internet service infrastructure, including fiber optic and coaxial cables.
  • Perform fiber optic splicing and terminations with precision and accuracy.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests to troubleshoot and repair network issues.
  • Ensure all installations and repairs meet industry standards and company specifications.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a team of field technicians, providing guidance and support.
  • Coordinate daily schedules, assign tasks, and oversee the completion of projects.
  • Mentor team members, providing training on splicing techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Implement safety protocols and ensure team adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers to explain service procedures and address concerns.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing timely and efficient service.
  • Handle escalated customer issues and work to resolve them promptly.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

  • Manage inventory of equipment and materials, including fiber optic splicing tools.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all technical equipment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for the procurement of necessary tools and materials.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare reports on team performance, project progress, and service quality.
  • Document all splicing and repair work accurately, maintaining comprehensive service records.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving service delivery and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in fiber optic splicing and installation in an ISP or telecommunications environment.
  • Experience in a leadership role, managing a team of technicians.

Skills:
